It is with regret that I advise all personnel that Retired Senior Firefighter Les HARRISON passed away on Sunday 13th January. Unfortunately Brigade records do not show his registered number but it would certainly have been a three digit number given his seniority in the job.
Les joined the MFB on the 25 July 1941 and retired on the 6 July 1980 after 39 years of service to the Brigade and the Community. On joining the Brigade he served at Headquarters for a brief period before transferring out where, over the years, he served at FS 9, FS 50, FS 28, FS 4, FS 6, FS 13 and FS 15. He eventually transferred to Southern District where he served at FS 36, FS 34 and FS 33.
A funeral to celebrate Les’s life will be held in the Weroona Chapel, Bunurong Memorial Park, 790 Frankston – Dandenong Road, Dandenong South on THURSDAY 17th January, commencing at 15:30 hours.
