Leading Firefighter Mick Busst Reg No 4411.
A true friend and gentleman.
Mick Busst’s legacy will long be remembered, not only from being a remarkable firefighter but also someone who despite his illness took the time to make a submission to the Australian Senate Federal Inquiry into “Fair Protection for Firefighters” Bill. This Bill recognises the occupational cancer risks for firefighters.
He wanted to do this for the benefit of future firefighters and their families.
Mick was still a registered firefighter until his passing working at FS13A. He continued on light duties at FS7A until he was not able to manage work and his illness.
He is deeply missed by all who worked with.
Sympathies to the Busst family who includes Mick’s son Nicholas, also an MFB firefighter.
