It is with great regret that I advise all personnel that Retired Senior Fireman Robert “Bob” UNDY (Reg No 1558) passed away on the 18 June last.
Bob joined the MFB on 20 February 1959 and retired on 20 May 1977 after more than 18 years of service to the Brigade and the Community. After his initial training at FS 1, Bob transferred to FS 48 (North Melbourne) before moving, a year later, to FS 6 (Coburg) where he remained until he retired.
The MFB has a proud tradition of members following in the footsteps of their family and the Undy family is no exception. Bob’s son, Commander Bob Undy, has carried on this tradition and is currently an Operations Commander in Western District.
